Hi,

I'm currently working on my build but I am unable to get into the motherboard bios with my keyboard and unfortunately I don't have a ps/2 keyboard laying around.

The keyboard I'm using is the Asus Maximus VII Hero and the keyboard I'm using is the corsair K95 RGB.

Bare in mind that I have not installed any operating system yet so no installing programs.

The corsair k95 has a bios switch on the top but this doesn't seem to work for me to get into the bios either. I've tried USB 2.0 and USB 3.0 but neither of them to get my keyboard detected either.

P.S already checked motherboard manual and I couldn't find anything on the matter.

Any help or advice would be appreciated! :)

Solution
Make sure you have the SSD connected to Sata port 0 or 1, the lowest number.

Have you tried every bios switch?

Spam both F8 and Del on each switch setting.

There's not really much else you can do if your bios wont recognize your keyboard. That's what the bios switch is for as you know and Corsair are aware some bios's wont detect, hopefully one of those switch settings will be the right one for you.

Hi, I've tried all the bios switches and nothing happens.

The bios is Del and F2 to get into the bios but neither of them want to work with my keyboard. Obviously because this is the first time booting, it waits until I press the button to get into the bios so it's waiting for a key press whilst on initial boot screen.

Could you suggest anything else?

Conclusion:

I've found my issue and it turns out my Samsung 850 Pro SSD was causing some issues. I've unplugged the Sata cable from the motherboard and it allows me into the bios. Unfortunately I'm now stuck with another problem of getting windows installed to the SSD. I'm not able to get into the bios without the Samsung SSD plugged in but I need the SSD plugged in to install Windows.

Any viable suggestions please?
