I recently bought a new 750TI graphics card to be able to play stuff like fallout and my ageing psu doesn't have the power needed to keep the entire thing running any more. So I know I need to get a new psu, my dad bought this one when he ordered the gpu for me ( http://www.ebuyer.com/566862-ace-black-120mm-fan-550w-fully-wired-efficient-power-supply-psuace550br ) but after hearing some horror stories of cheap power supplies I have decided that risking almost £100 worth of gpu wasn't worth saving some money on a psu. My price range is up to £50, and this is the one I found ( http://www.ebuyer.com/702009-corsair-vs-series-550-watt-vs550-power-supply-cp-9020097-uk ).
Is this power supply good enough and if it isn't could I get a recommendation as to what I could get within my price range, I heard corsair is a very good brand so I went for that first but i really have no idea about it. Also, would the cheap power supply run with the gpu until the better one arrives? Or should i not bother and just wait to be safe (I wouldn't be playing big games like fallout just stuff like world of tanks and league of legends). I really have no idea how much power I would need so I aimed for a 550w to be safe since my current one is 300w but if I need less then that would be good as I can get a cheaper PSU with better quality and lower wattage. Thanks for reading :)

Solution
Corsair VS is the cheapest Corsair model and low quality. You need something better for gaming. Look for something from Super Flower, XFX or Seasonic in 500-550 watt range. You can go as low as 400 watts but that will make it harder to upgrade again later on.

Without knowing your system specs it's hard to say what wattage you will need, but a 750 Ti doesn't require a lot of power. Use a PSU calculator to help figure out what you need, then use a PSU from Tom's PSU Tiers chart. If this supply has enough wattage, it would be a good pick:

well the calculator I used said I need 295w which i find hard to believe, makes me think something around 400w range would be enough I guess

I was looking through the xfx stuff and found this for quite cheap, it is tier 2 and only £30 so would it be ideal? i am not planning on upgrading any further with this pc, just saving up to switch to an intel cpu at some point. http://www.ebuyer.com/728616-xfx-ts-series-450w-power-supply-80-plus-bronze-certified-p1-450s-gren

That's the one. Buy it. :)

by the way, it will be about a week until it turns up, will the cheap one i have already got be fine until then, for about 3 hours a day of med gaming (league/ wot etc on low settings of course) and 5-6 hours of general use (internet etc) until it turns up? or is it better to be safe than sorry

ahh, i'll just leave it then, it still runs games just at around 20-30 fps which is enough for now. Now i wait for the xfx one to arrive :D
