Will my motherboard still work

i am new to pc building i have just got a new motherboard and i took it out of the box and put it on my bed will the bag around it protect it from static or not

The bag will protect it and static is a much over-rated danger. In dry climates and with synthetic carpet it can be an issue. My Middle School students have yet to have a problem and we take very modest precautions.
