You probably don't need any special software.
Plug it in via USB. See what happens.
If it does NOT work, take the card out of the camera, and plug it into a card reader.
Read this though:
NOTE: The HP Photo Imaging Software runs on Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, Me, XP, and Windows NT 4.0 (with Service Pack 5 or above). It is not supported in Windows 3.x, 95 or prior versions of Windows NT.

If you are able to find that software, it may well not run on a current Windows OS. It is quite old.
