Hello,

So I have an amd 860k athlon series processor and it was running really hot and crashing my pc. bit of a burning smell. I replaced the cooler to a Hyper 212 Evo and then temps went back to normal with 50 idle and 70 load. I then got this weird white box with what seemed like binary in it (this is inside windows) then PC crashed. Now temps are a lot higher again??? any suggestions would be massively helpful. Thanks in advance.

First of all 50C on idle is absolutely not normal. AMD will start to give you a slight headache if it gets to 70C. It will start to throttle and if you don't have a decent PSU and motherboard then....it's going to crash which it happened in your case. Please list your full specs including make and model of PSU so we can investigate further.

Hi, thanks. I have a Gigabyte GA-F2A78M-DS2 Mobo, and R9 370, a Athlon X4 860K, Cooler Master RR-212E-16PK-R1 Hyper 212 Evo and for the PSU i'm using an EVGA 100-W1-0500-KR - 500W (white rated). By the wya this isnt my acc build but im speaking as if I am my friend who is acc suffering from this. White rated is bad I know but he said that with his stock cooler 70 at idle was normal????
