I have an A10-6800k as my cpu and an fm2-a75ma-e35 as my motherboard. The BIOS is out of date and I would like to update it. However, on the MSI website, it states that I need to be using a trinity cpu in order to update it. I don't have access to one and I was wondering if I can just update using my current cpu.

Solution
Are you having problems with the current bios? Unless there is a compatibility issue that is giving your current hardware trouble there is no need to update.

If you want to update anyway: as long as you are currently running at least v2.0, you are good to go. You only need a trinity CPU if you are going from 1.x -> 2.x
