need help linking my windows 7 pc with my windows 98 laptop

ok so i have a windows 7 desktop hooked up to my netgear router and i have an old windows 98se laptop also hooked up to the router how do i link the 2 on my home network so i can enable file sharing and use it to transfer files from my win 7 pc to my windows 98 laptop?the laptop only has a floppy drive no usb and no cd rom hence the file sharing i mainly use the laptop for dos gaming and txt writing for my books and poems

Well, is the W98 machine "talking" to the router? Did it get an IP address? Can it PING the router? Are there any tinny LED by the RJ45 to signal activity?

If yes to all of the above then all u need is to enable sharing, in fact there was no security on W98 and as long as it's on the correct WORK GROUP, then the W7 box should be able to pull stuff from W98 at will.
