I Have a router (TP-LINK) with 3G backup. I use to use it with my dongle to connect to the internet. Everything worked fine. My laptop and other devices connected very easily. I decided to change mi ISP to Wireless Network (Megamax). So basically i don't have ADSL so i am logging into their network with my credentials. I receive their sgnal with my USB wireless adaptor and surf the net. What i want to do is run an ethernet able from my PC to the Router so that my devices(Laptop, etc) can use the Router. So basically, it is from Megamax > USB Wirelesss adapter picks up the signal > through ethernet cable to Router > then to all other devices. Is it possible? Any help would be much appreciated. Zr1rvp 73 BY the way, my router has a WAN/LAN & 3 x LAN Ports

You could use ICS on your PC and use the router as a AP. ICS mostly ok but you are using your PC as the router and you must be careful what you run on your pc. You do not want to run intensive things because it could cause network delays for the other devices.

You may want to see if the ISP offers a way to hook it to a router. If it is mobile broadband then you need a special router, if it is normal WiFi then you likely can use a outdoor client bridge and hook it to the wan port of your router.

Thanks for replying. At the moment (at least for a short while i hope), i am using Connectify Software which works quite well. I can see who is logged on and so forth but there is a lag at times especially when 4 people are connected at the same time. I also use the software to share folders with my other pc but the problem with this setup is that when my kids are watching movies which i have shared (My PC is basically you could say the server) there is a delay(Freezes). Anyway i decided to get myself en ethernet cable and ran it to their pc. So basically > from my Ether Port > to the Router > From Router to there pc and it works fine. Thanxs for your comments and help and will definitely save up too have my ISP install their equipment. Will cost me about ZAR 2500

Hi there! It is a 300Mbps Wireless N USB ADSL2+ Modem Router TD-W8968

Proofy

Admirable
I don't believe that you can do that with your router since I don't see client AP bridge mode in it.. try going in quick setup once you are connected with router and see if there's client AP option there.. if you don't have it then no, you can't do what you were planning to with that router.

Thanks a lot. Will check later. Was just going through some manuals and doing research about NAT. At the moment i am using Connectify or Virtual Router so my children can at least use their tabs or phones. Their devices are not getting wireless from the Router but from USB Wireless Adaptor (TP-LINK). What i did was > went into Network and Sharing Center > Chose third option (manually connect to a Wireless network) > Gave it a Network Name, etc > Then used Virtual Router to use this New wireless i created. Some how my Usb Wireless Adapter Receives and Transmits.

With the software that came with this wireless adapter you can also create a SOFTAP but i prefer the other software Especially Connectify, as it tells you who is connected. You can also disable the use of internet if you want to kick one of your children off the net. Sorry for the long reply. I will keep doing research and keep u guys/ladies up todate.
Thanks
