A few months ago I had bought a new power supply and graphics card for my gaming computer.
Power supply: CORSAIR CXM series CX750M 750W ATX12V v2.3 SLI Ready CrossFire Ready.
Graphics card: EVGA GeForce GTX 750 Ti FTW, ACX Cooling 2GB Graphics card 02G-P4-3757-KR G sync.
When both parts arrived I immediately attempted to replace the power supply to find that the CPU pin slot on my motherboard was a 4pin(or 6) while the power supply cable had a 8pin. The stock power supply that came with the pre-built computer was not capable of putting out enough wattage for my graphics card.
Another issue I'm facing is with the graphics card, I found was it was way too big to install onto my motherboard, it got in the way of the dvd drive cable slot that connects to the motherboard.

So my question is: What motherboard do you recommend I get that is both fairly cheap but suitable for a gaming computer? I would prefer a well-known name-brand that has plenty of room to work with and won't get in the way of any connectors. I don't have a budget, but I would like to keep it between 50-100$. Would the motherboard fit like a glove? This will be my first attempt in replacing a motherboard so I do not know if all motherboards and cases fit the same.
What im using:
Dell inspiron 3847 3000 Core i7-4790 16GB 1TB Windows 10, integrated graphics 4600 HD

I know going cheap isn't a good idea as it won't be as reliable compared to the name-brand models.
I thank you for your future reply and efforts in helping me out.

The simplest answer is that a 750w psu is way overpowered for a 750ti. It's much easier to return the psu and downsize to a quality 550w (cheaper too) that'll have a 4+4 EPS instead of the straight 8. Changing out motherboards can lead to all sorts of issues, the least of which is incompatibility with your version of Windows, which is Dell OEM and tied to the motherboard.

I found out the cable could be split in two, I didn't see that until now, I just got done installing both and updating my GPU. Everything seems to be running smoothly, I'm glad I did not buy another motherboard and tried to install it, like you said, it could cause issues.
Thank you so much for your replies, you've helped me understand a bit more about computers.
