Quite a bit:

http://rog.asus.com/365052014/overclocking/rog-overclocking-guide-core-for-5960x-5930k-5820k/

For gaming it isn't incredibly necessary. X99 is a monster, and basically you're always going to be GPU limited.....two, three, four GPUs.....doesn't matter. Going from 8mb to 15 of cache is a huge difference. In fact, most (but not all) benchmarks you see with this platform focus on professional tasks (editing, rendering, compiling), as that's where an overclock speeds up things noticeably.

If you do a lot of editing, then consider the X99 platform. Quad channel DDR4 and 6core/12threads will help speed the downtime up (if you spend a lot of time at it).

Not that you can't squeeze a few extra frames with overclocking, but isn't at all necessary.
