I honestly don't know how to describe the issue other than that the monitor screen has been divided into horizontal thirds, the middle third being comprised of either static or off-colors. I was playing The Witcher 3 when my PC crashed, which happens every now and again. I rebooted, and that's when I first saw the strange error on the screen.
I tested multiple HDMI cables to ensure that wasn't the cause, and also plugged the monitor into my Chromebook and it worked fine there. It seems the HDMI port has gone bad or something; could this possibly be driver related and reinstalling might fix the issue?
Here is a picture of the problem:
My specs: MSI GTX760 2GB OC Gaming Edition | Intel i5 4690K @ 4.5GHz | ASUS VS228 LCD 1080p HDMI
Any help would be so much appreciated, I'm tearing my hair out here. Crossing my fingers that the GPU is alright; while I suppose the card is still under warranty, I'm not sure I'd be able to survive very long without it lol. I am unfortunately very much a PC gamer and would have problems. Sad, I know.
