I'm currently building a computer with a 250GB SSD and a 2TB HDD. I've tried every SATA port but neither BIOS (from a Z97MX- Gaming 5 mobo) nor my OS (Windows 10 educational edition) can detect the HDD. I've tried it as the only drive powered/in a SATA port, every SATA port, and resetting the autodetect in my BIOS and still nothing. Is it possible I got a DOA HDD?

Specs
Hitachi 2TB HDD
Z97MX- Gaming 5 mobo
Radeon R9 380 gaming 4G graphics card
Intel i5-4690K CPU
Windows 10 Educational edition OS

I would go ahead and RMA that drive if possible, DOAs happen I am sure the retailer will take care of you. Its a bummer though.

Yup, I tried different SATA cables too. I switched the cables that were in the HDD and SSD and it the BIOS still only detected the SSD and then I pulled out an entirely different cable and still nothing. I also switched power cables.
