Is it good to discharge static electricity to power supply?

I am helping a friend build his computer and wondering either I should discharge all the static to the case or power supply?

This linus guy states that power supply is recommended as long with anti static wrist bands (at 1:20)

The power supply is earthed by the, earth wire in a plug if you live in a country where the plug has three prongs for the wall socket.

When the power supply is fitted to the case it also earths the complete computer chassis.
So touching or holding any part of the Chassis will remove any static charge from your body direct to ground.

When you use or have a static wrist strap, you simply clip it to any part of the metal computer case or Chassis.
