Hp pavilion g6 i5 2nd gen vs lenovo g50-80 3rd gen

I have one pavilion g6 2015tx core i5 2450m 2nd gen laptop with 2gb amd 7670m graphic card and 8 gb ram

AND

Other lenovo g50-80 core i3 5010u 5th gen with 2gb amd r5 330m graphic card and 12 gigs of ram.

So, i wanted to know which of laptops has better performance? Which laptop should i use? Does generation change from 2nd to 5th mean i3 would be better than i5?
Plus, if you can tell of more gigs of ram mean better performance?

Depends what you want to here, I've checked the processors, it seems to me that your i5 is faster than the i3.
The i3 power consumption if significantly lower though, which may be the "generation performance" you are asking about.
As for the graphic cards, AMD Radeon HD 7670M is 280 and AMD Radeon R5 M330 is 285...

In all likelihood and despite being a bit older, the Pavillon should be slightly faster.

More gigs of Ram mostly means that you can run more programs simultaneously.
But 8 vs 12 difference should not that high.
