So recently, My 'A' key is constantly getting stuck and i popped off the key to see why it was getting stuck. at first I thought i just had to clean under the key with one of those compressed air spray things and to no avail. After more investigating, i finally realized that the rubber spring/cup thing was not functioning properly. When I use a small tip of a comb to push the rubber down, it does not completely rise back up. The hey itself doesnt get stuck and begin repeating the same letter over and over it just doesnt push in and out and its very uncomfortable hitting a key that doesnt even push in.

I tried looking up some rubber springs/cups i can purchase but cant seem to find a single thing about these things and where to get them. I'm not gonna take my keyboard to a shop for something like this, so i came here to ask you guys what a possible fix for this (if any).Otherwise, ill just be finding myself a new keyboard.

Im using one of those black and red plastic iBUYPOWER keyboards that came with my pre-built PC. if thats any help.

The rubber cup sounds like a membrane keyboard where it's a series of rubber cups. Maybe only the cup portion is visible from the top but it's typically a one piece rubber sheet with the cups molded in.

It sounds like time for a new keyboard. I'm not sure they can even be repaired unless you could get the exact rubber membrane that goes to the specific keyboard. Inexpensive keyboards can be had for less than $20 so safe to say cheaper to replace than repair if repair was even an option.

Edit: I'm not necessarily recommending this one but it's the one I use. $13 and some change from amazon. I've been using it for over 2yrs daily both typing and gaming. I won't...
Those keyboards they include are the cheapest of the cheapest. You can go and buy any cheap $10 board and it'd be better. I think the cost of the part + shipping would be more expensive than the keyboard.

I'd highly recommend you buy a replacement even if it is another cheap keyboard.

I won't pretend it's a premium keyboard but the keys don't stick and I've been pretty hard on it. It is what it is, an inexpensive rubber domed membrane keyboard but likely better than that ibuypower one you got with your system.
