I'm looking to build/buy a gaming pc for roughly $1700. I have 2 in mind. One is a pre-built system and the other is made up of parts selected by me. (This is all being done on centre com btw)

Pre-built: http://www.centrecom.com.au/centre-com-system-iceberg-gtx-970-gaming-system# (No keyboard or monitor)

My build: http://imgur.com/Rv0oA3a (Keyboard + monitor)

Much better.
Top, latest i5
H170 mobo
Samsung 850 drive.
Full Win10 licence - OEM licence is tied to the initial hardware. upgrade CPU or mobo and legally your licence is no more.
Dell 1920x1200 monitor - 16:10. a bit more vertical height . extra 120 lines of vertical height (over 5+% extra screen area)
2TB 7200rpm HDD WD blue 2tb is a rebadged green (5400)
PSU much better than the thermaltake crap

The prebuilt has a newer generation CPU, but performance would be roughly equivalent. The downer is that it comes with a pretty poor PSU, not sure about the one in yours. It does have an SSD, which is nice. Price wise, you will end up about the same with monitor and keyboard.

You can find another option without a Monitor.
