So I bought i7 3770 to replace my current i3 2120. Both fit in the same socket (LGA1155), but when I changed to i7 3770 I got 4 beeps when I powered on my PC and no display. I read online that the beeps may indicate memory error, but my ram is DDR3 1333mhz and according to intels website i7 3770 supports this ram. My motherboard is Portwell Wade 8011 and I could find very limited information about it so I am not even sure does my motherboard support ivy bridge processors or is it limited just to sandy bridge such as my current i3 2120.

I would like to know if anyone knows do I need to change my motherboard, ram or is the problem something else

Looks like good reviews on the board and it supports Ivy Bridge. Your RAM should be compatible, too. You can try and see if the system will boot without reinstalling Windows, but I doubt it. To get it activated, you might have to call Microsoft and explain that you had to replace a defective motherboard.

@BadActor Okay so if that is the case I'm thinking about buying Asrock H61M-VG4 motherboard as it seems to be compatible, cheap and I can find BIOS updates for it on the internet

@Forever Oleg I've been looking for the BIOS updates for WADE-8011 for hours but I havent found any
