Hi,
So I just finished building a new PC and installed everything just fine but when I put in the r9 390 there was no display at all. I then made sure all the power connectors were working and the fans are running and the msi light is on. I can boot through the onboard igpu motherboard using an i5-4590 however it does not recognize the card at all even in device manager. I even checked the bios and made sure it was set to pci express but and it said no pcie card detected. I have an as rock h97 pro anniversary motherboard and a 725w Sentley XPP725-HS but if the fans and light are in that would mean it has enough power . Do you think the r9 390 card is not working or could it be something else . thanks for the help.

Solution
Call the tech support where ever you got your r9 390 from, I called overclockers UK(where I got my 390 from) and they said It sounds like a faulty card, it could be your Psu, apparently after searching on Google alot of people have said they are poor power supplies.

Same thing happened to me with my powercolor r9 390 try changing the vga power cables or the cable that you connect to your monitor it worked for me but I sent my back because I apparently have a faulty hdmi socket on the graphics card.

Yes, I am able to use the onboard mobo and there is one 8 by 2 and 6 pcie connectors connected to the card, the PSU cable came with 2 8x2 connectors but can both be split to 6+2 to work. Do you think that the Sentley XPP725-HS X Plus Psu is not giving the card enough power or is there some way to check or know?

I already tried changing the vga power cables and different monitors and dvi-d link and even when I go to motherboard overview in bios it says nothing is detected in the pcie 3.0 slot even though everything is plugged in and spinning. Is there any way to know if my card has a faulty socket or if it's the PSU because I would not want to return it if it is not damaged. Would the brand psu Sentley cause the card to not be detected by the motherboard if it's not getting enough power? Thanks

Can you post a picture of the card, so that the PCie connectors and cables connected to it can be seen?

I called Amd tech support and they said that it probably was my power supply that was giving the problem's. I ordered the card new from eBay and I also contacted the seller to see if they knew anything

Sorry about the bad quality, you can see that both 6+2 connector's are connected with only the 6 on the right
