I have an ASUS RT-N66u router. A few days ago I changed some of the channels to get better TV reception and it's working well.

I just tried to log in to check a password on one of the channels and it reports invalid username or password. The username and password is stored in my password manager and I haven't changed anything there. I've tried the default username and password to no avail.

I'm stumped. There is nothing particularly urgent right now since everything is working, but this problem does need to get solved before I have a problem.

I'll apreciate any suggestions or advice how to proceed.

Regards,

Tom C

When you *need* to get in, or just decide to fix it, reset it (using reset button) to factory defaults (192.168.1.1, admin, admin) and login from a computer connected by an Ethernet cable.

You could also just try to login now with what you think your proper setting are using an Ethernet connected computer.

I'm on the same computer and I've been trying to log in using my Password Manager. All I know is that I didn't deliberately or knowingly change anything for the router there.

I'll do the reset and go from there.

Yes, it's connected with an ethernet cable.

Thanks for the response.

I haven't had a chance to reset the computer yet; hoping to do that this weekend when I'll reset and will also reset the password from the default. At least for now since I am unable to get in, I'm assuming no one can. I do hope that is rational thinking.
