Somethings been going on with my dad's rig when he plays fallout 4, it's like some artifacts get or something. e recently upgraded to a gtx 980ti from a r9 280x. He has a 920 Bloomfield OC to 4.1 with 1.5 volts going through it and all temps are fine. He has liquid cooling on his cpu and he has a gigabyte 980ti OC to 1437 with .1 volts added. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=q_bLsiKCTHM someone please tell me what the hell this is because I have no idea. It only happens when he tries to push the card higher than 1437.

Solution
Ok, fair enough, mate, as long as the temperatures stay within reason (which they are), it's no big deal and I suspect you know more about overclocking than me... ;)
Still a good idea to drop the OC on the GTX980, though.

It looks like the card has hit its ceiling so I would dial it back a bit. The 980ti is a beast so find the best stable setting and just enjoy. That 920 with 1.5v on it seems very high as well as they are 1.35v chips. May I ask what temps you get on load on that and what cooler you are using?

Also I think it has something to do with the cpu being overclocked, since the multipliers are set in stone on the x58 motherboards you have to use the blck to overclock. And that OC's the pcie bus right? So that might be why I think he can't go higher and why this stuff is happening.

ok, but for the 1.5 voltz for the cpu, thats the only way he can get 4.1ghz and he needs that speed for doom 4. well, since he just boought a 980TI hes a little short in money so he cant afford a new MB & CPU, because he'll go skylake and thats 700$ almost all in all, almost for the chip and MB and memory he wants :/. He needs that speed,
