So i have R9 290x witch has 2 dvi ports, hdmi port and display port. I recently upgraded my screen from 18.5 inches Benq G922HDL to 23 inches Acer H236HLbid. So the never screen has HDMI input, i've been using DVI-D input for a while now, but my friend recommends me to use HDMI cable because it makes colors more vivid than DVI, aswell it was said in linus tech tips video about monitor ports, but some people say that HDMI and DVI has no difference in signal, only that hdmi can carry audio, and DVI - not.So is it really worth it switching to HDMI or not, does it has to do anything with colors being produced on screen?

I think the difference you are seeing may be due to the device you are using in conjunction with the cable treating it differently. Devices will treat DVI like computers while HDMI as TVs.

Probably the reason, but in each case a little tweaking of the monitor settings gave the same results, upshot is there's no real difference, you'll get the same variations by just changing the monitor settings, regardless of the cable employed.
