I'm in the process of upgrading my ancient rig. I ordered a bunch of stuff including the EVGA GTX 750 Ti SC.

Will this card work with my old Asus P5K SE/EPU motherboard? It has a 1.0 x16 lane, I know it is backwards compatible but there are no other driver updates for this board so im kinda worried it wont work. Right now I cant order a new Mobo/Ram/CPU because my budget is gone.

When I looked at the compatibility list on Geforce website it did list a bunch of P5K mobo's but not the exact one I have, will this be a problem?

That isn't that unusual. My motherboard is about two and a half years old. It hasn't had any BIOS updates since the first year.

Plus if for some random reason it doesn't work you can use it on another motherboard. Or you can return it.

Thanks, yea I know it is backwards compatible because im running a pci-e 2.1 card right now, but I was worried since there weren't any new motherboard driver updates that it might not recognize the GTX 750 ti.

Anyways, thanks for your fast reply.

I have an old system
mobo: ASUS P5K
CPU: Q6600 QUAD
RAM 4GB DDR3
SSD SAMSUNG 250GB EVO 850
GPU: Gigabyte GeForce GTX750 Ti 2GB Windforce 2X (GV-N75TOC2-2GI) (Was 8600gt 512)
PSU Thermaltake 600w toughpower (2007)
windows 7 64bit

The gpu was added today (24/10/2016), with drivers from Gigabyte and not from nvidia.
6-pin connector from PSU for extra power for new GPU.
The systems works very fine. No problem, at least for 3 hours.

Example: world of tank with old gpu 8600gt (512) it was 25 FPS. With gtx 750 ti 125FPS for the same settings.
Photoshop CS6 with no problems at all
Autocad 2015 with 3d enabled

For me the change of gpu was successful.

In my opinion, if you have a core 2 quad or similar CPU(INTEL 10 years old\)) and compatible all the other peripherals (PSU), Go for upgrade of GPU with GTX 750 TI and you don't be wrong.

I don't know your exact system, but i think it will be ok the installation of gtx 750 ti, with no problems.
