Hello, I wish to upgrade my HP P6-2429 Desktop's CPU (AMD A6-5400K) to a new AMD A10-6800K on my FM2 motherboard. Also I want to add 2GB DDR3 Ram at the same time. I am wondering if this will deactivate my Windows 10 OS? (http://goo.gl/Hy9Nsu)

If your not swapping out your motherboard you will be fine since you have already activated windows 10 on your current system. You can just add your new hardware and go. If you wanted to do a clean install on your system (not necessary) you can do that and still not worry about needing a new product key since your system has already been registered as an upgrade. You would just have to have the windows 10 install files which you can get from there website and place them on a usb flash drive.

The below link will answer any questions you have to do a clean install of windows 10.

My PC is loaded with the free Windows 10 upgrade from Windows 8.1, not the full retail version. Is that supposed to make a difference?

I have multiple questions:

Do I have to get a new Windows 10 Product Key or can I still use the same one that I currently have in my computer if I do a clean install? (And if so, where do I find the product key that I currently have?)

Can I do all of this without any clean install?

Will I lose my files and programs if I do a clean install?

Thanks,
