I want to upgrade my GPU but don't know what would be worth it, I have an HD Integrated 4600 (which is garbage i know) and am thinking of upgrading to a 750 TI anyone's input would be greatly appreciated.Something that would work without needing a 6-pin plug would be good too.I am willing to spend around $160 at most.

My computer: http://h20564.www2.hp.com/hpsc/doc/public/display?docId=c04453446

P.S what other kinds of upgrades are possible with my computer?

The 750Ti would be a pretty good bump in performance over your iGPU. The one below doesn't require a 6 pin PCIe connector.

The only upgrade I see would maybe be adding an SSD.

With a 460w psu, your absolute best option would be a gtx960, which would be a huge bump in performance, and requires a single 6pin connector. Whether or not your actual psu has one is unknown, you'll have to open up the case and physically check, but it's a good possibility that it does indeed have a single 6pin, many of those size psus do, just for this reason.

Thanks for the advice, I'll open up my PC in a bit to check.

I took a couple pictures and it looks like i have a 8 and 6 pin connector. I have a question about the gpu inside my computer too.It looks like nothing that resembles a gpu is in there, could you explain.

Huh, that's odd. You absolutely sure that's a 460w psu? A 6+2pin is capable of 150w, a 6pin 75 and the pcie slot is 75w for a total of 300w capability, which leaves 160w for your system. With the cpu alone taking half. That's very dangerous for pc health, trying to run an entire system on an estimated 160w.

You don't have a gpu. See the long black slot below the cpu fan, that's the pcie x16 slot, the short black ones are pcie x1 for add in cards.

For safety, stick with nvidia cards, they have a much lower power draw, the average gtx960 is 120w, but with that 6+2 pin, you are capable of an Asus STRIX gtx970 which uses a single 8pin, or others use 2x 6pin for 225w capable, leaving you with about 235w for the rest of the system, which is enough for a locked Intel.

With those connectors, my guess would be that if the psu truly is a 460w rated unit, its OEM Delta, who are known for over building, but under rating units, so it's probably capable of @520w.

Should i worry about the wattage that my PC is running at?
and would a 750 ti work fine (i don't have the funds for a 970).
Thanks for the help i'm becoming even more enlightened haha

The gtx960 far outperforms a 750ti, and at 120w will be no stretch on a 460w psu. A 750ti will struggle with pretty much anything beyond low-medium settings except for things like minecraft or roblox. The 750ti was aimed specifically at pc's with low power 300-400w psu's that did not have 6pin capability. The gtx950 is the upgrade/replacement for single 6pin @400w, the gtx960 for single 6pin @430w+. If it's in budget, the 960 would be best, its a huge jump in performance over a igpu, if budget disagrees, the the gtx950 would be second choice, the 750ti in last place.
