Old wireless adapter isn't supported in Windows 7, 8, or 10. Need a modern replacement.

Hello everyone. I know next to nothing about networking and have discovered that my old Netgear 2006 wireless adapter won't work on a new Windows 10 OS that I have built. I was wondering if anyone could offer some advice on what it is that I need to look for when getting a modern replacement.

I apologize if I offer irrelevant or mislabeled information. Our household modem is a Arris TG1672 and we have a 50Mbps package that will be split between three people. Our current wireless router is a very old WGR614v7.

I would highly recommend a router upgrade also. That is a wireless G (25 Mbit throughput) router. The Netgear R7000 is the #1 performing router in the AC1900 (price/performance sweet spot) on Smallnetbuilder.com -- http://www.smallnetbuilder.com/tools/rankers/router/view

A new router will allow any newer phones to move to the 5Ghz band.

What form-factor are you looking for ? PCI card, USB, laptop internal?
