How many VMs can i run? and which OS?

I need VMs for watching ads with a bot. All the OS needs to be able to do is run google chrome.
Needless to say i would like as many as possible.
Here are my specs:

CPU: Intel Core i7 4790k
GPU: ASUS Strix 980 (slightly overclocked)
RAM: 8gb 1866mhz

Im not a crazy computer nerd, but i do know some stuff.
So if you need any info that isnt on here, i'll be happy to check up on it.

For each VM, it needs its own OS license. Either Linux (free), or Windows ($$$)

How many can you run with 8GB total?

Given 2GB per VM, and 2GB minimum for the host OS, maybe 3 VMs.
But the performance will stink.

"watching ads with a bot"
May we presume this is some sort of click generating scam?

Wait... What if i use a very lightweight distro so i can run it with 1gb of ram or something?

Sure. A light Linux would easily run in 1GB each. So you get maybe 6 of those.
If you can make your bot software run in Linux.
