Good motherboard + powerfull cpu? Used, new, best combos?

So I'm thinking about good old cpu + mobo combo, which can handle games, and more, for longer time. It's posible to buy 3770k, 2600k, or another cpu with decent motherboard for 200 - 250$, or better take something new? How much time older cpus gonna be good??? So?

Even a 2600k will get you through most games right now, assuming you have a good GPU. But that CPU is getting quite outdated and i would not recommend buying it. If you can get a 3770k with a good Mobo for under $250, it's actually a very good deal. However, i would suggest using whatever you have now, and save some money for some good new components. For example, an i5 4460 + an Asus H81 board will be enough for todays games and upcoming games for a while. An i5-6600 is also very good value, but that's if you can save up a bit more money.
