I got 16 gigs of ram for Christmas, and when installed them they slowed my computer down while playing games. I went on this site and tried to look for people with the same problem but nothing that was said helped. I tried changing my virtual memory and I tried to fix it in bios but that didn't change anything. When i took out the new ram and set everything back to what I had it at, it still ran slow.
PC specs are:
z97 krait
GTX 970
I-5 4690
2x4 gigs of ram (old) new is 2x8 gigs of ram

anything is helpful, thanks

Solution
If your mixing the two sets they may be playing but not well and prob at sloppy timings, Try with only the 2 new sticks and if 1600 or better - enable XMP and select profile 1. Let us know the model #s of the sticks

You never need more than 8gbs of Ram for gaming only, unless your playing 1 out of the 500 games that eats up your Ram. you never posted your before and after ram specs so its hard to know what is wrong.
You most likely have a higher ram CAS on your new memory or it's running at a slower mhz, or both of these are happening.
