Hi there
I am looking at purchasing a second hand external WD 4tb drive, remove it from it's casing and place it directly into my desktop machine. There is a chap who has 2 different WD My Book Desktop external drives I can buy from him.
Now from what I have read on forums, these external drives more often than not contain one of WD's Green HDD's which I am not looking to buy. My question to everyone here is, is there a way to check within windows what the internal model number is of one of these My Book drives so this seller can report it back to me and we can determine if it is one of WD's Blue models instead which apparently these drives occasionally contain?
Thank you all in advance.
Luke
