I may sound stupid for all I know but I need to un overclock my I7 4790k that came overclocked and runs way to hot with my standard cpu fan, all I can find on the internet is how to overclock not undo it.
You can reset the overclock by resetting your BIOS to default settings, you can do this by removing the battery for 30 seconds or by using the CMOS reset jumpers if your motherboard has them.

I tried resetting the bios by removing the battery but I think the Intel I7 came overclocked by default so the default setting would be overclocked.

Can you take a picture of your BIOS screens that show 'vcore voltage' and 'core multiplier' please.
35Cis a bit high for an idle, and the high 80Cs is far too hot when running.
It is possible that your chip requires that much voltage to meet specification, but the stock cooler should be doing better than that. Did you install it yourself?

Yes I installed my self. And it should come stocked at 4.00GHz correct? Mine runs at 4.32 but I did nothing get it that high.

The cooler won't be coping at that voltage, 1.258v is high end air cooling territory. 4.4Ghz is the turbo boost so it will run at up to that speed if necessary.
The 4.4-ish GHZ voltage you have is much higher than the two I7s I have worked with and that voltage will b e beyond what your stock fan can handle 24/7.
What is your motherboard? We might be able to undervolt the CPU and get things down to a more sensible level.

Gigabyte ATX DDR3 LGA 1150 SATA DIMM 6Gb/s Motherboard (GA-Z97X-UD3H), I tried disabling turbo but no change
What did that do to the speeds and temperatures (and voltage), if anything?
Did'nt seem to change at all.
Oddly I restarted my computer and my temperature in games is now around 120F average I don't know what I did but i'm glad it happened, Thanks for your patience and help, happy to know there is a trusted reliable website to help me with my pc needs thank you!
