Hello i'm Mo

I'm kind of a big deal around here so you might want to listen closely...

My friends family needed a new PC, so i hooked them up with some street knowledge and i asked if i could have their old crap computer from 2006.

Its called the HP Pavilion a1644x

Completely old crap

I hooked myself up with an extra 512mb stick to put me up to 1 and ahalf gigs and i tried to install a version of linux.

Now the idea of this pc is to try out new operating systems and play some old school games like Half life mods and source stuff. (im going to put some old card in there to help it along)

But my main problem
I tried ubuntu, peppermint, and tahrpup puppy linux

But whether i use netbootin, NTFS or FAT32 with default allocation sizes
Whether i mount it with the files and the DIF without the DIF or just with it by itself

Or even when i just stick an iso in there it simply wont boot off it.

I unplugged the HDD and just boot off the USB and i fiddled with all the bios options

NOTHING WORKED

So i looked at the bios version and i wondered that if maybe i updated the bios it might work

but all i could find was an exe you needed to work off of XP
(i think i might get it but i really dont want to(XP))

Could someone help me out with this?
Toms has been really nice to me in the past and i was insanely surprised when i found out how fast a forum responds to you.

Id be thankful for any help and i appreciate anyone taking their time to read this

Solution
Try linuxliveusb instead of unetbootin, never had unetbootin work my self.

It's also possible the computer does not support booting off a usb. Try a cdrom.
