Getting an error when trying to load up linux possibly due to the motherboard

To start, my intentions were to create a triple boot linux hard drive (Kali 2.0, Ubuntu 15.10, and Mint 17.3 Cinnamon with each being 64-bit) with a shared 18 GB swap area while still possessing my Windows 7 64-bit install on a separate 1 TB hard drive. For some reason, my Asrock Extreme6 Z77 motherboard apparently doesn't play too well with linux. After researching various threads & trying to move SATA ports as they suggested to no avail, I ended up installing all three distributions from my laptop onto the hard drive. Now that I have put the 500 GB hard drive back into my system, it still reads the same Failed Command: IDENTIFY PACKET DEVICE. I have absolutely little to no experience with linux so I have no idea as to what could be causing this. This is probably my third go-around trying to install linux on my machine with this probably being the closest attempt. I tried playing around with EasyBCD to see if it would do anything, but no, it didn't.

This was the one I was talking about, but I looked it over again and realized he moved the disc drives to a new SATA port while leaving the ports controlled by the ASMedia chipset open.
