Hey THW!

Im having a problem with my built/setup once again. After having it stable for a little while it is suddenly acting up again.. I've noticed that my system automatically resets my overclock right back to 3,3ghz standard from 4-4.2ghz? I do NOT understand what is causing this, because I had it running for a long time without problems, could anyone please shed some light on what they think it may be, or did someone experience this for themselves? Perhaps IT could be an out-dated bios or an over/undervoltage? Didnt experience this WHILE stress testing lol

It is preventing majorly to enjoy gta to the fullest. 3.3ghz vs 4.2ghz makes quite a difference :/

Any advice/help/tips are appreciated, thanks!!

My Setup: (Dont know what is neccesary, so heres the majority lol)
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP1
8,00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 665MHz (9-9-9-24)
Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd. Z68AP-D3 (Socket 1155)
Intel Core i5 2500K @ 3.30GHZ ((34 °C)) Sandy Bridge 32nm Technology
AMD Radeon R9 200 Series

Definitely sounds like an unstable OC. Stress testing, like P95, will not ALWAYS find an unstable OC. The true test is everyday use, and especially gaming.

Have you increased Vcore yet? Even a 0.100 v. increase can sometimes work wonders. Try that but DO NOT go over 1.500 v.

HERE (Link) is a very detailed guide for OC'ing Sandy Bridge. It has a lot of...

Hey sorry for the late reply. But Yea it does unexpectedly shut down.. Yesterday I was playing GTA, i alt tabbed to put some music on and the whole windows apparently froze, and the tv/speakers made a..... eerie noise lol

But I dont understand, i've ran like many hours of prime95 on a 4,2ghz OC? So I am confused

Please hlep me out, its getting worse too

Admirable
My 3570k was stable at 4.3GHz during stress testing, but crashed randomly in normal use, even when just web surfing.

Long story short, I reduced the speed to 4.2Ghz, which helped, then to 4.1GHz, and it has been fine for months and months

Well, sorry for the late answer guys.. Im really having trouble with my setup now. It cant even run GTA 5 on normal settings without major lagg spikes :/ Gettign so annoying damn..

And i've already played with the voltage and ghz. Started at 4.2 when it first failed. I put it on like 3,9. Slowly, and it still happens :/ I've played with the vcore aswell, i've put it to +0050. And doesnt work any wonders, what do you guys suggest I should do to uncover/reveal the problem? Is there like another stress test that you could recommend that tests yet another part of the CPU alongside P95?

I'll play some more with the voltage now, and i'll see how it goes!

And thanks for the link Yogi!!
