Hey, i recently built my new pc and it's not starting up. Does it need a BIOS update to support my i5-4460 to start up? I've gone through every wire and stuff, so is the mobo faulty or does it need an bios update to start up with that cpu?

System: i5-4460, r9 380, Gigabyte GA-Z97P-D3, 8gb ram, hdd and a ssd. psu is a 500w antec.

You mean start without the gpu and with one ram module installe? If it works, do i put them back and try again?

The i5-4460, is a 4th generation Intel processor. But you're right, a Bios update is always good as they usually update more than what is stated.

That MB does not need a bios update to run with that CPU.

roopedd, can you boot into bios at all? If all else fails, try taking the MB battery out with the computer unplugged, for 10 to 15 mins. Then put the battery back in and boot right into bios if you can, first set optimized defaults then enable XMP Profile1, save settings and exit bios. Bios needs to be set up after a reset or an update.

My pc does not boot up at all, when i press the power button it only makes a small buzzing sound for under 1sec and nothing happens.
