front and back fans not spinning after graphics card installation

so, i installed a new graphics card (GTX 960) by using the molex connector from my fans and using a adapter to connect to my psu. but since i dont have anything to connect my fans to the motherboard, my friend gave me a adapter to connect it to the motherboard, i connected everthing but when i turned it on the fans were not spinning. Everything else works fine though.

yeah i know but i just got this gpu and i dont really want to upgrade it now, is there any temporary alternative?

ok, i am thinking of getting a psu for my sons birthday in a couple of months, but what could i do for a temporary replacement, just for like 2-3 months
