What Sound Card Should i Get

Im Planning on spending 60-100$ on a sound card i have a pair of HD 280 pro's and my motherboard doesent really have enough power to get them loud and get good bass out of them they a 64Ω impeadance im going to bestbuy because im too lazy to get them online so give me something to look for while im there im not really a sound guy.

the dac onboard the dx is the same one used in the stx so from a quality standpoint, its above its price range. however, it does not have as powerful of an amplifier so it is better suited for connecting up to home theater equipment, powered speakers and external headphone amps. the z has a pretty strong amplifier.

either are good choices and are both good cards. i just suggested the z because you thought onboard was not powerful enough and the z would certainly give you more of a boost than the dx.

i've heard of people using both dx and z cards with the 280 so you're likely fine either way.
