I already have a thread open over my current PC issue. (http://www.tomshardware.com/answers/id-2898304/cpu-motherboard-xmas-upgrade/page-2.html)

What I am asking is for any with these intel cpus: i5 4690k, i7 6700k, or i7 5820k coupled with a gtx 980 to post their FPS in either Battlefield 4, Star Wars Battlefront or Grand Theft Auto V.

Basically my issues are one dead Bios and 10FPS less than my previous system. Also potentially a bad GPU.

I had an i5 4690k, ASUS Maximus Hero VII, 8GB DDR3 G.Skill, EVGA 980 ACX2.0, Corsair H100i, AX760 PSU. I ran the CPU at stock and the GPU was at 1500Mhz on the core.

My system now is all the same except now with an X99 platform. I have the i7 5820k, ASUS Rampage V Extreme, and 16GB DDR4 from Corsair. I have ran the CPU at stock, 4.0Ghz, and 4.5Ghz. Nothing really adds up with my system.

Please post below and feel free to ask questions if I need to elaborate more.

Solution

OK. Tried it out. I should first mention that I overclocked my CPU to a 45 multiplier, up from 33. The GPU is still at factory settings.

I'm getting 90 to about 105 fps regularly in BF4 on that map. I don't really play that game often so your experience may be different than mine.

970 as opposed to 980. I have but don't play BF4. I don't have the other games.

I setup this system up days ago but in some early tests (not overclocked), I get about 90-100FPS in any game that I've played that isn't locked (which is none of them), at max settings.

Does that help? You can buy me the other games and I'll do further testing if needed. Many, many hours of further testing. :)

Ya, no problem. It may take me a few days, though. I start working again tomorrow and between that and a new baby, my gaming time is limited.

Hopefully someone else comes along who can give you their numbers, too.

That is around 20 fps higher than mine! And you are using a 970 right? I had a few days ago contacted EVGA. They recommended running 3D mark and reporting back my scores, sense the graphics test is GPU intensive: the physics test, CPU. My Physics score was really good, 20pts away from a guy who had his CPU overclocked to 4.5Ghz. My graphics score on the other hand was far below normal. Looking up scores with the same CPU and GPU, I was scrolling down past the 300s and couldn't find someone with the same score.

Evga RMAed the GPU and that should mean problem solved!

Thank you for posting!
