Hi I'm building a new PC except i want to keep using my old hard drive as a storage unit(it has windows installed atm.)I know that with new build its better to format the hard drive but i need 200gb's worth of files i need to keep and i dont have any device to keep that data.So what if i make a partition to hard drive move the files over there and format the windows installed partition after i installed the windows to the ssd.Im not sure this idea is gonna work any suggestions ?

Hey there, fanuilos. Happy New Year! :D

Well, I see no reason for this not to work. You should be able to connect the drive as a secondary storage HDD even with the OS still installed on it. Just make sure to boot from your SSD (as you'd most probably get an error if you try to boot from the HDD anyways). When you've connected the drive to the new build (assuming you've transferred your data to a different partition already), just open Disk Management and delete all other partitions (which you don't need) e.g. C:, system reserved, etc. and make a new volume out the space you're left with.

Hope that helps. Please let me know how everything goes and don't hesitate to ask if you have any questions whatsoever.
