specs:
Case: NZXT Phantom 240 Case (white)
CPU: AMD FX 8320 (8-core)
Memory: 8GB x2 -> DDR3-1866 G.SKILL Ripjaws X
Video Card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 950 2gb
MOBO: ASUS M5A97 R2.0
Hard Drive: 2TB Hard Drive + 128 GB SSD

How many watts should suffice? Is 600 more than enough? I can easily get a 1000w power supply if needed!

600 watts is more than enough for a current generation GTX 970 , and starting in the middle of this year the next generation of graphics cards will use even less power . Chances are 600 watts is good for upgrades as well

Thanks! To you and to everyone!

Come on how long have you been on these forums his rig does not even pull 300watts at stock!
This 550watt PSU http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-220g20550y1 is much better than this 600watt PSU http://pcpartpicker.com/part/evga-power-supply-100b10600kr
It is not all about size more about quality!

Thanks, the charts are very insightful, I will likely decide to "downgrade" by CPU to a Fx6300 and get a better quality PSU

Don't get the fx 6300 if you have the 8320 already. I have an fx 8120 that I need to list for sale online, but I picked up an fx 6300 in a combo deal at microcenter. I needed the board anyway, and figured it would be fun to play with the 6300. Newer architecture anyway.

I got the fx 6300 and overclocked to 4.3ghz. I had the 8120 at 4ghz. I can tell you mostly not a huge difference, but like for example wwe 2k15 on pc, I get a skip only occasionally where I didn't before with the old cpu. If you have the 8320, get a good cooler on it and overclock that puppy.

The upgrade from the 8120 is ok I guess, but realistically imoi think of you've got a bulldozer chip, unless you get a deal, stay with it until upgrade time. It worked out for me because I needed a board. Building my wife a system for her home office with an odd Athlon quad and spare parts I have sitting around. So I paid 106 for the combo, but can sell the 8120 on ebay it appears for 70-80. So I effectively bought a boats for 25-30 bucks.

FX8320, FX6300 or I7 5690X and the recommendation for a system with a single GTX950 is still the same!
