Hello!
Recently my first custom built PC started to lack what was needed to keep up with new games, and eventually It became rather obsolete, as in the only games it could run at above 30 fps were indies :/

So I decided to start looking for parts to assemble a new gaming PC, with the ability to keep up with new games, and stay at that level for a decent time before needing new parts. Here is the list of parts that I think suit, and stay within my budget (Around £1000)
I know that some parts aren't exactly the best, but any tips or advice are welcomed!
Thanks!

CPU: Intel Core i7 6700

Cooler: BeQuiet! Pure Rock

RAM: 16GB Crucial 2133mhz DDR4 (2x8GB)

CPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960 2GB (I'm not quite sure about this)

Motherboard: Gigabyte Z170-HD3P

OS: Windows 10 (Very not sure about this)

Storage: Seagate 1TB (Hybrid 8GB SSD)

PSU: 550W Corsair VS

Any feedback is appreciated!

A GTX 960 is decent for 1080P gaming, but I would rather recommend a GTX 970 instead. Windows 10 will be completely fine for you. Here's a build with as many things the same as your build with a GTX 970 instead.

you can go with B150/H110/170 motherboard and save some money, there's no need for z170 with locked cpu. It's bad system for that kinda money. I've built for 1340€ gtx 980 ti g1, 16gb hyperx 2133, gigabyte h170 h3dsp usb3.1, cooler master g750m, barracuda 1tb, antec gx500 and later just added an SSD drive.

Thank you all for all the feedback and advice!
It seems that most of you think that an i5 cpu would be better for me, rather than an i7. Would anyone care to explain the performance difference (in gaming).
Also, I completely agree with the graphics card being upgraded, that was on my mind before i made this post. I forgot to mention, the total I calculated there (roughly £1000) includes monitor, keyboard ect.

The single core performance would be nearly identical between the two and for most games, ones not CPU bound, the performance would be the same.
