Help Upgrading my rig??

Hello!
I always want to play at Ultra with solid 60fps.
And today i bought Metro 2033 Redux and to my suprise i couldn't max it out.
I had to set SSAA to lowest and lower quality a bit to get over 45FPS.
I've heard that this game is a bit of fps eater but still.
I just bought a 2560*1440 monitor and I know that eats som FPS but I consider my hardware to be good enough to max it out anyway.. Maybe I'm wrong?
Anyway I've thougth of getting another 970 and go SLI question is will this be enough for future games or do i need to upgrade my CPU aswell?

GPU Gigabyte GTX970 G1 Gaming
CPU Intel I7 4770K 3.5GHz

Metro 2033 Redux is a beautiful games with facial upliftment, all the graphical and gameplay improvements yet this game suffers a huge shuttering , Frames drop and so in simple words the game is little unoptimized, Take a example of GTA 4 and GTA 5 ,Despite beautiful graphics and huge CPU usage GTA 5 is able to maintain 60 FPS unlike Gta 4 which Could cross 60 Fps on only high end CPU like yours.Your Rig is already a next- gen your CPU is already a beast and will last for generations without bottleneck , even your CPU can be overclocked to 4.0 GHZ which massively boosts the FPS , So Your CPU is Perfect even GPU matches your CPU,So my suggestion is don't waste your money on next GPU, alternatively you will require a Highly rated PSU ...

Try updating your GPU and CPU drivers. Use Gamebooster , close any of unwanted background programs like windows update (Note :windows update slows down your PC).Getting 45 FPS in this game is perfect unlike other people even on high end pc's can't overcome shuttering.
