Are the specs for my current rig and i was wondering what I should upgrade first to improve my gaming exp.

With gtx 970 only get 144Hz monitor if you can compromise on in-game details. To be honest you might be better of getting better 60Hz IPS panel. For 60+ fps at max settings you would need gtx 980 for 1080p which is far more expensive than 970.
