Hi

I recently sold my computer to my cousin, as I have just built my second one, and no longer need the older one.

We set it up in my house. I installed a new hard drive and a new disc drive, then installed Windows 10 and all the drivers he needed.

It worked fine throughout this entire process.

However when he took it home, while it worked for a while, it crashed while he was playing a game on it, namely, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and entered a state of continuous restarts.

I told him to dust out the CPU fan, as I assumed it could've been overheating. After that, he said it was working fine, until it crashed yet again an hour later.

I have been using that computer until last week when I built my new one, and have been able to run a multitude of games including CS:GO.

Now I'm suspecting a PSU problem because he said he plugged the PC into a power strip, which also has 2 consoles plugged into it, his monitor, and perhaps a few other things, most of which were off, however.

Any suggestions on how to fix this?

Specs:
CPU: i5 3570k
RAM: 2x4gb DDR3
GPU: GTX 660 Ti
MoBo: AsRock Z77 Extreme6
PSU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703036

Edit:
The PSU fan is on the bottom of the case, if the PC were sitting on top of carpet, would that have any effect on anything?

Solution
It's very possible that is the cause, heat build up in the PSU can make the PSU provide wonky voltages. You might suggest elevating the PC off the carpet or flipping the PSU so the fan is up. See how he fares after that.
