I have a lan setup (192.168.0.1) consist of many ap's and clients cameras and such. DSL had to slow of a upload speed, so I switch to cable. The cable modem has different ip and subnet setup and dhcp is activated on the cable modem. Try to access modem and you get password of the day. I do not want to change all ap's and clients, cameras, ect to this cable modem subnet and ip range. How do I still get to the internet. All I have between the lan and the cable modem are poe switches for combining the lan. Would I put a router in line and use its dhcp for my LAN or what? I don't know how to combine the two. Thanks whoever reads all this.

Most devices allow you to change the subnet they use. You should be able to temporarily hook a pc to it and let it give you whatever address. You would then access the modem and change the ip. Most automatically drop the ip on the pc and get a new one so you can get back into the router. It is a little strange sometimes and you may have to unplug the ethernet cable on your PC to get it to get a ip in the correct block after you change it.

There should be instructions in the manual. Now some devices are stubborn and restrict what ip blocks you can use. For example some devices do nto support use of the 10.x.x.x blocks.
