Sorry if this has been answered already but I couldn't find it.

I have a gaming pc that has an asus maximus hero VII, 750w power supply, i7, and EVGA gtx 760. I want to upgrade to the EVGA gtx 970 but don't want to remove the 760 since it works perfectly fine and want more graphics performance by using both cards. If i am able to use both would their be any negatives in doing so?
And how would i go about on setting both up?

Lastly, the 970 is GDDR5, is my motherboard compatible with that? I'm not sure what GDDR my 760 currently is.

No, but, you could use the 760 as a dedicated PhysX card. The 970 will work with your motherboard. What case do you have? If your case is large enough and has more than one slot for video cards, just do the same thing that you did when building your PC, unless you didn't build your PC, you can watch a tutorial on how to build a PC and it will have how to install a graphics card in it.
