Recently I bought a bunch of new pc parts as I wanted to upgrade my pc. My main concern with this upgrade is: how will I transfer my OS between motherboards, as my OS is windows 7 and it is oem. I read that trying to boot from the drive with the OS would cause errors, so Im wondering if I upgraded to windows 10 before changing motherboards if it would then be possible to boot from the hard drive with little to no errors.

An OEM, or System Builder, license is tied to the motherboard. When you change the motherboard, in Microsoft's eyes, you've built a new machine. However, you can also call Microsoft and request a new license key, which has a variable success rate.
