Will a new Cmos battery remove the bios update I recently flashed

I need to replace my CMOS battery and recently flashed a new update to make my AMD fx 8350 compatable with my board and I am afraid with the new battery that it will reset the update.

Removing the CMOS battery just defaults the BIOS, it doesn't actually do anything to the firmware. your time and date will be wrong and your boot devices might change but thats it.

It is actually useful if you cant boot due to a bad overclock as it resets that as well.
