Have a PC with 4gb of ram and wanted to upgrade to 8gb. Bought a new 8gb stick and followed all instructions to replace the old 2x2gb sticks. When I then go to turn on the pc it boots and stays on, but there are no beeps from the motherboard and visual output. Fans are all working and all lights are on. Hard drive spins up.
Tried putting the old sticks back in but it does the exact same thing.
Tried unplugging one component at a time but still nothing.
Tried clearing CMOS via jumpers and removing battery still nothing.
power supply works fine in another system.
is the motherboard to blame then?

Motherboard - P7P55-M
New RAM - Hyperx 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Non-ECC CL9 DIMM XMP HyperX Savage
Old RAM - KHX1333C9D3B1K2/4G, 4GB (2GB 256M x 64-Bit x 2 pcs.) DDR3-1333MHz CL9 240-Pin DIMM Kit
GPU - GTX 580
CPU - i7 (can't remember the number)
PSU - Thermaltake Toughpower XT 875W

When you replaced the old RAM with the new one, HyperX Savage, because the new RAM is not compatible to the P55 MB, the RAM can only support at least H61 or up MB, info from kingston http://media.kingston.com/pdfs/HyperX_SAVAGE_US.pdf

But after you put back the old RAM, and clear the CMOS, the PC should boot. You may try one more time, either clear the CMOS by the jumper or removing battery ( you have to wait for 5-10min, also unplug the power core too). If you can boot the PC you need boot into the BIOS to reset the BIOS setting, because after clear the CMOS the BIOS will be in default setting, if your hard drive with the OS is not in the 1st sata port, then the PC will not boot.

Tried this, no solution. Put the HDD in sata 1 (it was in 3) but still have the exact same problem, it doesn't seem to ever get to BIOS, motherboard never beeps :(
