Hi guys wondering if you could help me I was wondering if this CPU cooler could be used passively? Or with a single fan positioned between the two chambers. This is simply for my personal ascetic tastes rather then a desire for silence. Ive been making a few upgrades and wanted to change the existing cooler.

The set up is an AMD FX 6300 with a slight OC to 4.1 MHz at 1.32 volts
Asus M5A909X Evo Mobo
16gb of 1833 DDR3 ram
GTX 970
The case is an Enthroo pro
it has some additional LED strips but doubt these add much additional heat, 512 GB SSD for the HD
Extraction 140mm Silent wings 2 in the rear, 3x120mm Silent wings 2 in the top
Intake is the stock 200mm fan in the front currently l could swap it to 2 140mm fans?

I use the rig for gaming, Music production and gerneral web browsing etc.

Most of my gaming is done at 1080 with my main titles being older MMORPG's that ive played for years but I do crack out modern titles from time to time. I cant think of any other information i can give you guys Hopes it enough. Thanks in advance

If you guys need any additional information

Solution
That's powerful cooler, using it with a fan in the middle only should be just fine.
2 fan in push- pull configuration may shave only couple of degrees anyway.
Without any fans only if you underclock and undervolt the hell out of it and even than only with good breeze in the case.

Should be fine. Noctua's D15s ships with one fan. For completely passive use i would advise against it especially for you cpu. Amd cpus have quite the low temperature ceiling. I believe after 70c they start to throttle.

Thanks so much guys you are stars! I love the clean lines of the cooler and running a fan i the middle shouldn't detract from them at all.

Can I just ask do you feel the case fan placement is ok? Should I alter anything here? I have blue and black interior and as of now am cosidering using the either the blue CPU cooler with a square black shrouded fan or the black cooler with a square blue led fan meaning I could use the stock fans in the front of the case and swap out the 200mm fan that it came with as its decent but maybe not the best, and its all hidden in the case anyways so you wouldn't notice the mismatch.

Thanks again for the replies theyy were both a big help choosing the "solution" will be tricky lol
