Hi all,

I have just built my first gaming pc and noticed my hyper x fury 1866 memory running at 1333 in task manager.

I read online that xmp must be enabled in the bios. My Motherboard (msi pcmate z97) doesn't have this option at all. All I have been able to do is manually set the frequency, however this doesn't fix this issue.

Having read online I'm not sure this this ram actually supports xmp, but instead Uses PnP

Should I buy different ram? Will this make the xmp option appear?

Thanks

hyper x fury does not support xmp profiles.

this ram is auto overclocking. it is supposed to clock to 1866 without any setting changes.

but since you are having an issue, try manually setting it to 1866 in your bios. there should still be a non xmp option.

Ok thanks for the help. Just to clarify, even though task manager is displaying it as 1333z it is actually running at 1866?
Ill.doible.check on cpu-z later. It should be reading 933 correct? Since this value is doubled?

Thanks again

I think it was set to auto originally which is when it said 1333. Changing it from auto still says 1333 in task manager. I'm not.at the computer just now butill.clarify this soon

In cpu-z the memory stated is at 933. I configured the ram to 1333 in the bios and checked again, where cpu-z said It was 666.5. Task manager still says it's running at 1333 regardless of the setting.

So is my ram running correctly and task manager is just acting up?

Ok so I'm guess it is running at the the specified speed according to cpu-z?

If task manager is going on the default dram spd I'm surprised it isn't displaying 1866 since that it's the rams rated speed..
